King and Queen of the Courts · rounds played: 5, players: 28

The next round has not been announced yet — a sign-up button will appear here as soon as it is.

You can join from any round

The Crown of the evening can be won by anyone on their very first visit — it doesn't depend on the season or on how much you have played before. In the season every round adds points, so the earlier you start the calmer you are: the season lasts four months, about twelve evenings, and a one- or two-round deficit can be made up. Even a bad evening earns an attendance point, and your worst result is dropped at the end.

What is "King and Queen of the Courts"▾

The evening is split into 8-minute rounds. Every round brings a new court and new opponents: win on your court and you move up, lose and you move down. Court 1 is the royal court.

Two or three players per court. With three, they play English rotation: two on court, the third by the glass wall; the loser goes to the glass, the winner stays on. Nobody leaves the court — everyone is in the game all the time.

Everyone enters their rallies for the round — a single number. The system calculates the round points: place on the court (first — 1, second of three — 0.5, last — 0) plus 1.5 × your share of the rallies on that court. So it matters both to win and to run a lot: even a lost round brings points if you fought.

After six rounds the hall stops and watches two finals for the crowns on the royal court — one game to 11. The crown is the title of the evening and does not affect the table.

How the season is scored▾

A season is 4 months, at least three rounds a month. Each round gives points for your place:

1 place 102 place 83 place 64 place 55 place 46 place 37 place 28 place 1lower 1

All rounds except your single worst one count — play nine and eight are counted. One ruined evening doesn't spoil the season, but you can't skip a couple of tournaments either.

Plus 1 point for every round played, even if the evening went badly: you showed up — you got a point.

The standings are separate: the King's crown and the Queen's crown are contested separately, even though everyone plays together. If points are equal, the one who played more rounds ranks higher, then the one with more crowns, then the one with the better best place. If it is still tied, the place is shared.

Year results▾

A year is three consecutive seasons of four months each. Season points are added up cumulatively, with no dropped results: you can skip a season, but catching up will be harder.

The year's total determines the King and Queen of the Year — separately for men and for women. Season crowns stay with their holders: the annual title does not cancel the evening ones.
