Squash scoring: PAR-11 explained
Squash scoring is simple: a point is won on every rally, whoever served. The system is called PAR (point-a-rally) to 11.
Game
A game is played to 11 points. At 10–10 play continues until one player is two points ahead: 12–10, 13–11 and so on.
Match
Tournament matches are usually best of five games; amateur events and leagues often play best of three. There is a 90-second break between games.
Calling the score
The marker calls the server’s score first, then the receiver’s. “Hand-out” means the serve has passed to the other player.
